Dentures

The application of dentures is the procedure of filling the gaps formed by partial or total teeth loss with artificial teeth. Losing teeth for various reasons causes the chewing and speaking functions to be disrupted and leads to aesthetic and psychological problems. Dentures can be used in various ways depending on the intended use and the requests of the individuals.

Metal assisted porcelain teeth are porcelain crowns where metal alloys such as chromium, cobalt, nickel are used as substructures and the super structure is shaped using the appropriate porcelain system.
Metal assisted porcelain crowns is an option of denture the success of which has been proven over many years. The success of this system depends on the physical characteristics of the porcelain and metal used as well as preparation of it in a certain thickness in order to achieve enough durability and aesthetics. Since the metal used as the substructure for the porcelain is not translucent, it may have a matt finish and a dark gray line may appear alongside the gums. In order to meet the high expectations of aesthetics, the use of full ceramic systems (zirconia teeth, laminated porcelain leaflets) is recommended for the aesthetic front part.

Eliminating the absence of teeth

This is the process of recovering the integrity of the mouth by eliminating this absence depending on the number and location of the missing teeth. This is one of the important branches of dentistry which aims to eliminate not only aesthetic problems but also the ones affecting the chewing functions, proper production of sound while speaking and psychological problems caused by edentation.

Partial dentures and sensitive clasped dentures

On partial dentures, there are the plastic teeth filling the gaps of the missing teeth, a pink or gum colored substructure and a metal substructure connecting these together. However, the most important part is the use of metal clasps that hold them on the teeth. It is applied in partially edentulous patients. Metal clamps wrap the visible surface of the tooth like an arm and hold the denture in place. The biggest disadvantage they have is that they create an image which is aesthetically difficult to accept.
Dentures with sensitive clasps are placed onto the teeth with a crown and they are almost invisible as a result of which they are more aesthetic.

Total Dentures

Total denture is a procedure which can be applied if you have no teeth left inside your mouth. They are dentures which stay inside the mouth via a vacuum force supported by the bone tissue remaining on the upper and lower jaws, made of acrylic, and colloquially referred to as “palate prothesis”.
